Gentleman's Dignity

Lately I watched Korean Drama after such a long time I have no interest on it.
Why? Yang maen Jang Dong Gun sihhhh.. itu laki kan kalo mau maen drama biasanya yang selected only.
And I made a good decision! The drama was delighting and refreshing.


The story line not overblown (like what Korean Drama usually does) the main topic:
boy is always boy they never grow up,
 so realistic huh? haha #nooffence.

It tells about 4 middle-age gentlemen.
One guy is a 'player', named Kim Don Jin
Another is a good family man type called Im Tae San
Plus a widower lawyer Yoon
And a playboy husband JungRo

The men are all in their 40s, and two main role ladies are in their 36 years old. Four of them display a good harmony of friendship despite of their SO contrary personality and maybe some will judged them as "immorality" (since the main role is a player who slept with almost any women). But somehow, eventually the gentleman able to perform their dignity good enough.
The relationship in this drama also not that romantic, but I do like this drama because they communicate a lot! (and also maybe because of the charm of Jang Dong Gun hahaha)
And they pretty persistent with the way they approach each partner, on and off, on and off of course but surely we can see it as a daily-basis-happening event, when sometime your partner send a 'sign' yet you don't understand it, got misunderstood instead, however the drama managed the main role to fight their ownselves and humbling themselves to their partner as the action of their love.

The story shows even sweeter situation when even the "in law" (I mean the ladies of that 4-friends) also managed to get to know each other and then support each other inspite of their own conflict and not-really-get-so-well individually.

Conclusion: this is a must watch drama ;)

On spur of moment, I remember when I came to Malang to meet Herlina, and her hub Agus pick me up at bus terminal and his mom made some Bakso, forcing me to eat and insisting to give me some home-made-Bakso back to Caruban. From that time on, the "in law" in a sudden count as family.

Then Takashi (Jess' hubby) who kind enough to specially cook Sukiyaki for my last dinner before I left Japan. I felt cherished in instant.

And top of the list (as I can remember) is, Sinh's mother in law (Fiona's mom). That day suppose to be a bachelor night before their wedding, but we made it early to have early dinner first with the seniors and actually also to skip TianJin's traffic. But still, TianJin traffic is crazy! Jammed all over, and Sinh's mom-in-law, came to pick me up ridding a bicycle! yeah Sepeda onthel yang ada boncengannya itu! Aku dijemput di depan Westin Tianjin dibonceng sampe sejauh kira-kira lebih dari 20menit. That was the superb moment! And her plan actually worked! We arrived just in time at the restaurant, without wasting time with the traffic.

My little experience with some "in law" of friends just a little example of how friendship is contagious! As long as the friendship stays strong, the "in law" is following the lead, resulting a sweet harmony of friendship. Just like the drama shows the story of daily life not-so-pretty-reality and personality, but the love and friendship handle it all. Though those gentlemen in the drama are not the best people or some well-behaved person, indeed they gain their own dignity as gentleman, in their various unique way each, and committed enough to make the friendship stay through lots of forgiving actions.


The key of the story still the same: Love, this drama just made it more fun because it copes not only the romantic side of love but also the ugly and not-so-perfect-humanly-love between friends, or friend's of friends also the in laws.
